On December 19, 1941, at Eluet El Asel, about 400 men of the 1st Battalion of Royal Paratroopers Carabinieri faced the assault of 4 battalions of Indian troops of the British Army. Leaping from their trenches throwing improvised explosive devices, the “Lions of the Desert”, as Radio London called them, made the defensive line impenetrable allowing thousands of Italian-German troops to retreat safely. This was the first page in the long history of the Italian paratroopers.

The Tuscania Paratroopers Regiment requested that the Extrema Ratio T911 be specifically made as a commemorative knife for its 80th anniversary.

The T911 is a medium-sized lightweight folding knife designed for professional use by military operators. It features a modified spear point blade, flat edge, made of Bohler N690 cobalt steel, heat treated to a hardness of 58 HRC, for the best compromise between strength, ease of sharpening and edge retention. The blade is 76 mm long, 4 mm thick, has a stone washed finish and rotates around an adjustable pin for the best opening fluidity. A counter screw allows you to lock the pin in the best position.

The handle is made of Anticorodal aluminum alloy with a high-resistance black anodized finish and is milled to facilitate the transition from a “reverse grip” to a saber grip.

The blade opens with a thumb-operated pin. The knife uses a liner lock blade lock and a safety ensures maximum hold even during heavy use. The safety lever is colored red for better visibility and engages in the forward position for more instinctive use.

Integrated into the handle are a seat belt cutter with an easily available and replaceable cutter-type blade, a tungsten glass breaker, a stainless steel knot untie and a screwdriver for adjusting the aiming optics, in AISI 420 steel. The reversible clip, fixed to the end of the handle, allows for very deep carrying in the pocket, for less visibility.

The knife can be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. With a total length of 194 mm and a weight of 145 g, the T911 is easy to carry in both uniform and civilian clothes.
