Gehmann Producer In 1930 a young man named Walter Gehmann stood out, and immediately became a worthy opponent among competitors in the sector in small and large caliber rifles, winning competitions even at national level. Trying to improve his scores, he discovered the possibility of developing some shooting equipment.
Already in 1936 he designed his first precision rear sight and the following year a pair of glasses with a specific adjustable lens support system.
In 1939 he made the first shooting jacket, a shooting belt, shooting shoes and gloves.
In 1949 the company that still bears his name was born, run for forty years by its founder Walther, who was succeeded by his son Markus to take over the reins of the company.
Returning to the history of Walter Gehmann's career, he continued by participating in a world championship, followed by the arrival of his precision diopter Iris in 1953, with which he won no less than seven titles in the German championships (a certainly enviable result).
In 1956 his first viewfinder arrived and two years later he developed the first color filter for the rear sight.
What is unknown about the founder is his talent in various branches of the sector such as assisting the design and development of other well-known manufacturers in their early years of activity. Interesting to know that the company never produced its own rifles and pistols.
This path of new ideas and projects leads to successfully marketed products day after day, quality engineering, excellent tools and equipment. Herr Gehmann Snr has more than 100 patents and is still present in the company.
In conclusion, today Gehmann is recognized all over the world as the largest company producing target marks, always supplying products designed to give the best quality / price.
