In addition to CO2 gas, the cartridges are also filled with 0.8g of silicone oil, which cleans and lubricates the magazine and blowback seals during firing.

Other advantages of lubricating cartridges include improved performance. During use, they offer a slight increase in initial velocity, but more importantly, a more consistent initial velocity, resulting in greater precision.
